Culinary Arts
Nutrition & Wellness - The first of the Culinary Arts courses available at MCHS. Basic nutrition as well as kitchen safety and sanitation are the core principles of this course. Students have the opportunity to become ServSafe Certified ($38 cost to the National Restaurant Association).
International Foods - Students will focus on basic food preparation techniques and careers in the food industry. From fruits to grains to outdoor meat cookery, students will make their way through our FACS Culinary Cookbook!
Food Science - students will study science in the kitchen in an effort to understand why reactions happen in food and how food can be manipulated.
Culinary Arts - students will run a student-produced restaurant. Students will focus on restaurant concept and design, food preparation and cost calculation.
